It’s time to add to the new year with a post for my series of free songs and rhymes for circle time! Today, I’m sharing free songs and rhymes for a very special holiday in January … Martin Luther King Day. The third Monday in January is always Martin Luther King Day, a great holiday for a variety of songs.
Note: For non-holiday winter songs and rhymes, see my “Free Winter Songs and Rhymes for Circle Time” post. For educational songs and rhymes at any time of year, see my “Free Educational Songs for Circle Time” post.
There are lots of wonderful CDs you can buy, but I’m just listing free resources here. You can typically find links to buy the CDs for songs on YouTube if you wish. These are songs that I’ve found online for preschool teachers and childcare providers. Many of the songs work well for older children, too. They are also great if you’re a homeschooler or parent supplementing your child’s learning at home. And I think they’re lots of fun for grandparents and anyone who enjoys spending time with a special child.
Children’s songs “Thank You, Dr. King” – Littlestorybug
“Let Freedom Ring Everywhere” by Bubbly Vee
“A Time for Peace” by Bubbly Vee
“I Have a Dream – A Song For MLK Day” by Daria Music
“Mister King” by Theresa Orlando
“I Have a Dream” song written by Chris Inserra and performed by Susan Salidor
“The Ballad of Martin Luther King” – Pete Seeger and Brother Kirk
